Been Sick for Three Days

I've been sick for the past three days, including today, which sucks. I hate being sick. I rarely get sick enough to be sick, so I suppose being sick is somewhat a change of pace. Funny thing is, I feel more normal compared to the floating feeling I've been having over the past month. It feels like I have my body back. :P I have this post scheduled, but I'd say chances are I would've gone to see a doctor or something tomorrow morning, and all should be well. I hope.

As for my assignments, I think it'll be easily completed despite my sickness.

I rarely check my site e-mail address. Guess what? A whopping 4350 new e-mail messages sent to cfgt.net, gobbling up a massive 33MB of my already small website quota. WTF?!

Where Do You See Yourself Twenty Nine Weeks from Now?

It's a little funnier when you try to predict what you would be doing slightly over half a year from now. Where do I see myself 29 weeks from now? What would I be doing? 1. Playing GTA4, Halo 3, Devil May Cry 4 (I hope) and many other games (here's hoping for a Starcraft 2 beta leak :P).

2. Completing several assignments that will probably be due while preparing myself for several midterms that should be coming too.

3. I will probably be sleeping a lot too while doing nothing.

4. I should have applied for some jobs and stuff that'll could alter my future from then on.

5. I might know what I'm going to do for the rest of my life by then.

The Abandoned Blog

Heh. I've had to run around quite a bit over the last week over some red tape, rules and regulations and so on over the past few weeks. I got pretty worried so I sort of abandoned the blog for quite a while. What did I run around about? Plenty of things. Somehow, all this worrying and stuff also brought back a few less than desirable alterations to reality. For one, several of my old abilities are slowly returning, some wanted (like my 6-hour sleep pattern) and some unwanted (like my ability to game for hours on end without stopping).

I'm probably not very suited to blogging, what with my sparse updates and all, plus there's actually a lot more less believable rubbish I'd actually like to put here, but I believe it is in my best interests to keep them to myself. Sadly, that also means quite an amount of self censorship, and a lot less for you to read.

At some point, I suppose this blog will die permanently, but I'm quite fond of keeping it around for a long time. It sure as hell is going to be around for quite a long time.

(I think my brain is slowly regaining what it used to have 5 years ago, but hopefully not at the same cost as it was 5 years ago.)

Blue Dragon Demo

I've gotten hold of the Blue Dragon demo on my XBox 360, and I'm rather fond of the battle system. It has a very interesting tradeoff between taking damage and dealing damage, which I like a lot because I think it adds quite the amount of strategy to your planning, and most certainly tests your timing skills as well. There's also an interesting field skill that allows you to instantly kill weak enemies you've killed before! Big plus for saving time when you just want to rush through a dungeon! According to the mini-tutorial in the demo, there's even a skill that allows you to stun the enemies on the field.

I've always found field manipulation interesting, and probably one of the many reasons why I liked Xenosaga. The notions of their shadows attacking is also an interesting one, since they all have rather interesting forms and some of them are pretty cute. :P

While I still don't know how worthwhile it is to acquire Blue Dragon, I think it's a pretty safe bet that it'll be a good game. I've begun putting quite the emphasis on RPG storyline compared to gameplay, because in my opinion, an RPG is for both. You want to see the storyline, while having fun stuff to do while furthering the storyline. (Yes, I find both lacking in FF12. My opinion of FF12 is beyond low since I find playing that game is sheer torture. You don't hear that coming from someone who played the four .hack games to the end very often, I'm certain.)

I'm highly interested in battle systems that place a tradeoff between damage and something else. To this extent, I am very fond of the battle systems in Grandia 2 and 3. I am unsure if I'll be happy with Blue Dragon's form of trading off damage for flexibility, but I think it'd make for a interesting strategic game. (Not difficult to see why I like Disgaea huh.)

One thing I find pretty interesting is the rather large party in the demo. Having 5 characters in a battle takes away some of the strategy that goes into planning your party since it's pretty straightforward isn't it? Three frontline tanks, one support mage, and another offensive mage.

Random Idea - 12th July 2007

There are rules in this world. However, they can be bent to perverse ends, causing what you would see as an anomaly to simply be normal in the flow of events. To this extent, any human can gain the abilities you have seen so far over the course of time you have spent here. It is not to say that you could gain the same abilities they do, but spend enough time with them and it will not be long before you will gain the same abilities that they wield as if it were nothing. Of course, first you'd have to contend with how to live among them without the same powers they do.

They can access data by merely touching the terminals, but you cannot. They can order food by merely channeling enough data into the grid in the floor. It will not be long before you will find yourself alienated by their very norms because you do not have the same abilities they do. Of course, there will be those among them who are disabled and do not have the ability - and that is how you will live until you possibly gain it, of which the probability is slim.

They are actually of the same origin as you, with a possible genetic predisposition. There is no evolution at hand here, merely a massive process of learning to be done. It may take until your next lifetime before you complete your learning process, but nothing can stop you if there is a will to do it.
