I'm finally feeling the pressure. My final examinations are coming. The end of semester 1 is near. I haven't studied for anything, despite the fact that I probably don't have to study for two out of my four subject anyway. I'm completely stumped as to how to write out something good for foundation in law (although my tutor seems to think that I know enough to stump my friends :P) I have no bloody idea how I'm gonna get good marks for Management. I'm teetering the line for high distinction, and I've actually more or less given up on ever getting it. I already know I'll have minimum distinction all the way, but I need the high distinctions to get into good universities. I wonder how I'll fare. This is the year that will make or break my dreams. (then again, I don't have much of hope either :P)
The Joys of Simplicity
Something went wrong a few years ago. Things went from simple to complex.Enjoy simplicity. Like this post. Complex post coming later. :P
An Innocent Can of Coca-Cola
I went to the Giant supermarket in Pusat Bandar Damansara today. I bought a can of Coke (the drink, OK?). It was adorned in nice red and yellow colours. It said: "Celebrate the Festive Season with Coca-Cola". The price on the shelf in the cooler said RM1.19. I went to the cashier with RM1.20. She gave me back 11 sen. I looked at the receipt. It cost RM1.09. I believe this was a funny way of looking at contract law. I offered RM1.19, the person counteroffered with RM1.09, and I never ever accepted the smaller offer. Then, economics tells us that sellers will always be willing to sell at a higher price and buyers will always be willing to buy at a lower price. What the hell happened?! Buyers win this battle against the system! I still am holding the can of Coca-Cola that has defied the law of contract law and economics. I did not imply acceptance in any way, but I got a receipt. What happened?!
Condolences to Suprnova.org
I send my deepest wishes to the torrent site Suprnova.org. It is now permanently down (at least the torrenting part). The lost of Suprnova.org, I believe was due to its own popularity. It was one of the largest databases of torrent files in the world, and it has now succumbed to popularity. It will never be forgotten, as it became a vital part of the Bittorrent community. For now, until a new leader shows up, we will be happily using another torrent database. Some of you don't know what it is, some of you have used it for years, but now, it is gone. Bye bye Suprnova.org Torrents. :D
