Accomodation. A rather strange thing. I got off the train to what I described to be student accomodation. The rain has just stopped.

First, I enter what I seem to consider my old accomodation. It is an old building with many rooms, and there are beds everywhere in the main hall, like a wartime hospital. I walk in and ignore all those beds straight to an elevator. I take the elevator up to the second floor. I speed straight to a familiar room and unlock it. Inside, I find my things. Because it's just a dream, I picture it as a heavy fluff. Imagine a really heavy comforter.

Near this room, a bed lies outside at the end of a corridor, a sign of how small my old place was. I leave the place with my stuff, knocking over a few beds in the process, and returning the now no-longer-of-use key to the office.

I head over to my new place, and get in. (I already have a key.) I have trouble finding my own room, so I knock on a door, finding about six people busy playing Devil May Cry 4 on PS3 controllers. (How six people do this is beyond me.) I ask them for help, and they ask to see my key. I show them my key, and they take me to my apartment, where I enter to find my housemate happily trodding his way through some game. I drop off my things in my room, of which my housemate seems to have dumped his things in as well. (probably some artifact of my first housemate doing the same thing).

I immediately leave for some gaming event at a concept store. After this gaming event, the dream ends – and is replaced with one a lot more dreamlike.

This one wasn't so vivid, but it was yet another one involving a train a lot. I'll separate it into two parts: one about the train, and another about something I've dreamed about before, accomodation.

First, about the train. It's a mass rapid transit kind-of train, that goes far into the suburbs. (I'm thinking I was dreaming of something similar to Melbourne's trains.) I took this train everywhere, including all the way home. This time however, I was taking this train to my university. It isn't the University of Melbourne, it's kinda further into the suburbs.

This wasn't a short train ride, mind you. It took plenty of stops before I got there. The first stop was seemed similar to a normal train station. There were a few food stalls here and there, but mostly people.

The next few stops were just desolate places with nothing there, but a few people did get off at those stops. And then, it started raining. The rain got really heavy, and at some point we started getting into forest area. It continued to rain heavily.

I walked down the train into the food section (yes, I know, peculiar that it has a food section). I find that the food section no longer exists. It's empty, and in a corner, there is a convenience store. I buy some bread and ice cream from it, and return to my bed.

The train has a stopover in a city. (Yeah, I know, it gets wacky.) This city is somewhat similar to Singapore, except with less people and slightly less tall buildings. I walk around the city to visit the hospital (what the heck?) and talk to a friend of mine, who is now a dentist. (a dentist at a hospital?) Note that it is still raining now.

I run back to the train with my friend who sees me off. The train runs off into my final destination.

(To be continued…)

Last week, I had a rather peculiar dream. Why did it take this long for me to blog about it? I was wondering. Would it be sane to talk about the stranger dreams I have? Well, I rarely describe my dreams in such detail, but I suppose.

It began with sort of a prologue. I was somehow given/sold to a demon/devil for some strange reason. Oddly enough, this resulted in me having to board a train on sorts. The train station itself seemed ordinary. A train station that seemed perfectly ordinary. There are the usual newsagents around, the ticketing counters, the open space, the platforms.

A train came. A group of us, about twenty people got on this train. We got on this train, and before we knew it, the world outside it had changed. The doors opened, and we walked out. The place we got out onto was strange. It looked exactly like the train station we had left, but it was deserted. The stalls were closed. The station was run down and old. The devil/demon huddled us up to a corner.

We got somewhat of a briefing. The details were vague, but it was obvious that we weren't brought to hell or any kind of place like that. He/she/it told us that we would be called upon when needed, but until then, we were free to wander this world. It was a strange world. It was practically a copy of the real world – but with very much less people.

We soon found that most of the things we needed were lying around. Communication, transport, and lodging were all taken care of. What was probably among the more alarming things was that we found that there was a way back. It was temporary, and purely allowed for simple visits to the real world for a short period of time, it was interesting to say the least. Of course, it was something you could just get on, with certain things that needed to be done.

The world used a peculiar currency. We know it exists. We know it's there. However, it doesn't seem to have a physical form, or even method of transfer, but we could transfer it. While we never ever seemed to deal with the devil/demon, it became apparent that the world had a strange way of working.

To earn currency on which to spend on certain things, like visits to the real world and other ‘privileges', we found ourselves doing jobs and playing some degree of politics. To this extent, the world was vicious, from a human sense, but going there itself had already entailed losing an amount of humanity and morality, if anything was left, it was merely our memories. Everyone there was merely a semblance of themselves in the real world.

Why was this dream weird? This is among the few vivid dreams I've had where there are no discernable identities. The dream itself cuts off soon after I find out about the bus. Other strange details were somehow there. There's no explaining it, but it's something that's just known. Of course, it could just be my mind adding details to the dream. One would never know.

An oddball thing that I've somehow connected with it is that there is some semblance of strength that is gradually gained while being in that world. Either way, the dream was just plain disturbing in its own way.

By now, you're probably wondering why I'm writing about my dreams. My dreams happen to be more interesting than my real life at this point in time. You might not find them as weird as I do, but they sure are weird. Arguably, everybody doesn't dream straight, but there have been creepier dreams.

When I was a lot younger, say 10 years ago, I dreamt of what I now know of as the backdoor passage to one of HELP's lecture theatres. That dream was particularly weird because I have never been to one of HELP's lecture theatres. I had never seen a single photo of the passage, nor have I seen it until I actually went to HELP.

Well, you might say that, hey, it's just a passage, surely there must be some permutation in my dream that led to that particular passage. Maybe. You'd never know. While I have never had any particularly prophetic dream, these dreams do often cause feelings of deja vu. A particular conversation with a friend about a very particular topic, going a very particular direction – and you know exactly what you're about to say, and what your friend is going to reply.

Where am I going exactly? I don't mark many of my dreams as particularly peculiar, since most of them I forget. But those I remember – are the weird ones.

OK, so I don't like MMORPGs. I can't stand them. I don't see how people could spend more than one or two months on a single game! But that's straying away from the point. So, apparently I play MMORPGs.

When the dream begins, my friends and I walk through the first newsagent, browse through several magazines, and then go to the cybercafe. We play for hours, then come back. This somehow repeats itself several times with foggier details. On some days, we buy drinks, on others we are somehow eating fried noodles on the way. (wtf?!)

Then comes this one fine day, when a friend of mine tells me while he's on the way back that my favourite magazine came with this CD with the expansion of the MMORPG I've been playing. I go look through the first newsagent, to find nothing. I then go to the second one. For some odd reason, I run into someone of interest. I have no idea who this someone is, but I happen to think the it's a she, and she got a copy of the magazine for me. (weird >_>). I thank her for it and move along after maybe an hour of chit chat at some drink store.

I head to the internet cafe, and then the dream ends.

This dream I had about a month ago. In my dreams, I happen to somehow dream up entire shopping malls. Don't ask me why or how, but for some odd reason I happen to be capable of generating an entire shopping mall in a dream. I don't go through the entire shopping mall, but I often know what is on which floor, even in my dream. (Weird, since I'm not some shopping-loving maniac or something.)

Hence, this dream takes place in a familiar shopping mall. It happens to have 4 floors, but floor of particular interest in this dream happens to be the basement floor. This particular shopping mall happens to have a cybercafé on the basement floor. I will elaborate on this floor since I happen to recall a large amount of the layout.

This floor has a flight of stairs leading down to the basement. An up escalator is next to this stairs (no down escalator). Next to the staircase is a newsagent. This newsagent happens to have a healthy stock of my favourite gaming magazine.

A significant part of this particular basement floor is a pane of glass between the shoppers and the parking lot. However, there are plenty of shops along the way, among which is a game shop, several snack stores and most importantly, an internet gaming cafe.

I appear to remember frequenting this internet gaming cafe. (I have only visited gaming cafes like nine times my entire life, so no I don't have any idea why. And why in the bloody basement?) There happens to be another newsagency next to this cybercafe. It happens to survive because it sells plenty of gaming magazines also.

In this dream, I happen to like MMORPGs. I play them like ordinary games. My friends also happen to enjoy some of the same games. (Weird details, eh?)

(to be continued…)

This dream I had not too long ago. I was going to some kind of party. I can't tell if it was some kind of house, or club, or something. The first weird part of this dream is that I practically don't go to parties, or clubs, or anything. I suppose it could happen in some future, but it hasn't happened and probably won't happen for a while.

The next weird thing is that I have a car. Not just any old car apparently, because in the dream I expected the car to follow me through the parking lot while I was on foot. So, I have this car. I'm certain I can drive this particularly odd car, since I had my hands on the steering wheel. I followed the map of directions to the place.

It included a strange instruction, which was to keep to the left of the parking gate (I don't know what you call them, but it's one of those pole things that lift and drop to let cars pass through. Then, I'm supposed to turn right to a booth. After reaching this booth, I get out of my car, and go to the booth. I then continue to walk in (oddly enough, expecting my car to follow me), and then I look back after a few steps, finding that my car has disappeared.

For some odd reason, I didn't find this weird. I continued walking in this place for the party or something. Apparently, I brought the 3rd disc of three matching discs, and put it into this 3 disc player of sorts. For some reason or another, I didn't dream what happened at this party.

I left the place after meeting a few people, including what I seemed to think of as a rather bitchy princess. (???) Then, I went to look for my car. Unsurprisingly, I didn't find it where I expected it to be. (???) So, I called my dad. (I think it was my dad, who knows?) We then looked all over the parking lot, and found it (obviously) wasn't in the parking lot.

We finally found my car next to some fence with some other cars in another neighbouring parking lot.

For some weird reason, I came back the following day to help clean up. Someone's mom was there. (I assume the bitchy princess, for some odd reason.) I go to the 3 disc player to find my discs inside, but the cases were missing. I asked this lady where they were, and she said she found a case, but it wasn't for any of my discs.

For some odd reason, this became an arduous quest with journeys through cliff and caverns to retrieve this cases. I somehow had to dodge many challenges (???), and fight off ninja cats (yes, this is where it all just goes nuts like dreams always do). Just as I was about the acquire the second case, I got killed.

I somehow, resurrected, now also with ninja cat capabilities, and avenged my death. (weird, huh.) And then, I woke up.

(Note: Blog has been recently updated to WP2.2. I'll change the theme soon enough to take advantage of the widgets, but for now, I'll stick with what I have until exams are over. Tell me if any bugs have shown up after the update.)
